About Christmas in Berthoud
Our Vision:
Teaming together to touch our community with love by raising money to help families in need purchase gifts for their children for Christmas and groceries for a holiday dinner. Our Berthoud Community…donating our time, talents, and financial resources to give back and give hope.
Our Event:
The majority of events will be held on Friday and Saturday, December 4th and 5th, but businesses and organizations can continue fundraising efforts until Tuesday, December 15th – representing the 12 Days of Christmas. The collection of funds deadline will be on December 15th with a goal of all gifts being delivered by Sunday, December 20th. The goal is similar to a progressive dinner where attendees could visit a multitude of places throughout the weekend with activities and great shopping opportunities. Each group could design their own part, but should let the Christmas in Berthoud Team know about it so your event can be publicized.
Christmas in Berthoud 2009 Fund:
This is a centralized fund that receives contributions from all aspects of the community in order to provide help for hurting families this Christmas in our Berthoud area. Funds will be collected at Home State Bank. The goal this year for the Berthoud community is to raise $15,000 in which 100% of the funds will be distributed to families in our area. Families are selected by a team who will be receiving nominations from the Berthoud School Counselors, House of Neighborly Services, and other organizations. Each family that is nominated to benefit from this fund will receive a gift certificate for food in addition to one check per child for the parent to purchase Christmas gifts for their child. Funds will be overseen and managed by Roger Bates CPA/PFS and his team. If you know of someone who needs to be considered to be a recipient of this fund, please e-mail Kim Land at kland@graceplace.org.
Our Request:
Please volunteer your time and/or your resources. There is a tentative list of events that are scheduled as well as a listing of charitable event ideas that your group could develop. (Keep in mind that the calendar may change as more organizations and businesses develop their plans.)
We hope you will consider volunteering or making a tax-deductible donation to Christmas in Berthoud 2009 Fund. We thank you in advance for whatever donation you can give. A donation of even five dollars would make a difference. If everyone in the Berthoud area donated $5, we could have over $25,000 to help our hurting families.
Checks should be payable to Christmas in Berthoud 2009. If you need a receipt, your check can serve as your receipt. If you’re donating cash, you can drop off your cash and/or check to Home State Bank at 310 Mountain Avenue and the bank will issue you a receipt for your deposit. If you’d like to mail your check, please address your envelope to Home State Bank, c/o Christmas in Berthoud 2009, PO Box 719, Berthoud, CO 80513.
