About Christmas in Berthoud

In 2004 Festival of Trees was begun by Grace Place Church in Berthoud and the event has evolved into Christmas in Berthoud to specifically help families in need. This event has grown into a community-wide annual effort and has helped hundreds of Berthoud families in need during the holidays.

Our Vision:

Teaming together to touch our community with love by raising money to help families in need purchase gifts for their children for Christmas and groceries for a holiday dinner. Our Berthoud Community…donating our time, talents, and financial resources to give back and give hope.

Our Event:

Collection of toys, food and clothing, and fundraising activites are starting the first week in December.  The only exception is the Chili Dinner November 12th.  Check the Activites page to see where you might like to participate. The majority of events will be held on Friday and Saturday, December 2nd and 3rd, but businesses and organizations can continue fundraising efforts until Wednesday, December 14th. A Grand Finale Party will be offered for recipients only on December 17. The goal of Christmas in Berthoud is similar to a progressive dinner where attendees could visit a multitude of places throughout the weekend with activities and great shopping opportunities.  Each group could design their own part, but should let the Christmas in Berthoud Team know about it so your event can be publicized.

Christmas in Berthoud 2011 Fund:

This is a centralized fund that receives contributions from all aspects of the community in order to provide help for hurting families this Christmas in our Berthoud area. Funds will be collected at Home State Bank. The goal this year for the Berthoud community is to raise $15,000 in which 100% of the funds will be distributed to families in our area. Families are selected by a team who will be receiving nominations from the Berthoud School Counselors, House of Neighborly Services, and other organizations. Each family that is nominated to benefit from this fund will receive a gift certificate for food in addition to one check per child for the parent to purchase Christmas gifts for their child. Funds will be overseen and managed by Rich Bonilla, Treasurer and his team. If you know of someone who needs to be considered to be a recipient of this fund, please e-mail Kim Land at kland@graceplace.org.

Christmas in Berthoud is Changing!
